What will my donation be used for?
Your donation will be used for the selected product whenever possible. In the further development of the donation shop we will create different product categories. Each donation product is assigned to a category, which is listed in the product information. We currently only offer products in the “Construction” category, in line with the progress of the project. If we urgently need funds for other expenses in this area, your donation can also be used for this. This gives us the opportunity to use your donation where it is most urgently needed.
We are grateful for your valuable support!
Will I receive a donation confirmation with my shop order?
Yes, we confirm every donation immediately after receipt of payment. The donation amount can be deducted from taxes in accordance with the cantonal guidelines and is subject to tax deduction in accordance with Art. 18 Para. 2 MWSTG is not subject to value added tax.
How do I get my donation back?
A refund of the donation is no longer possible after the purchase has been made.
Why is the Flamingo Children’s Hospice needed?
According to the latest projections, more than 10,000 children and young people (up to the age of 18) in Switzerland are living with life-limiting illnesses. The aim is to create a place of retreat for families under great strain, where the professional application of paediatric palliative care (PPC) gives sick children, as well as their families and siblings, the opportunity to receive care, advice and support. Despite the existing clinical and external hospital services, there is a lack of necessary care places. The aim here is to create a bridging offer for temporary support that also benefits the families affected in a preventative way.
Why is the Flamingo Children’s Hospice dependent on donations?
A children’s hospice has a pioneering and innovative character in the Swiss care landscape. In contrast to most other European countries, public co-financing of children’s hospices in Switzerland is neither politically regulated nor financially secure.
The overall project of an inpatient children’s hospice, i.e. construction, operation and palliative care and support, must therefore be financed primarily through donations. The services offered at the Flamingo Children’s Hospice will include far more than those covered by the health service. In order to provide holistic and comprehensive care, support and assistance for the sick children and their direct carers and siblings, we are permanently dependent on your support.
