Children and adolescents up to 18 years of age with life-limiting illnesses, their parents and siblings are admitted to the Flamingo Children’s Hospice. This creates a missing bridge in the palliative care supply chain for afflicted families.
The comprehensive care and relieving support combined with the appropriate infrastructure is intended to enable those afflicted to take time out from their exhausting everyday lives. The focus is not only on the care of the sick child, but also on the needs of the parents and siblings. The Flamingo Children’s Hospice thus offers a unique retreat for the whole family.
Our video: Affected parents talk about loss, worries and fears. Our Managing Director Elisabeth Brenninkmeijer explains how the Flamingo Children’s Hospice can complement the paediatric-palliative care chain and support families as a valuable retreat.
